Sophia Leung, a student at ESF Shatin College in Hong Kong, has always been passionate about science, especially biology.
During the summer of 2022, Sophia completed an advanced course at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has also achieved notable success in various competitions, including The Rising Cup 2015, where she received a merit in English Speech, and the 69th Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival, where she won first place in Solo Verse Speaking for Primary 3 girls. Additionally, she was the winner of The Rising Cup 2017 and the champion of the PACup – The Hong Kong Recitation Talent Competition 2018 in the P5-P6 English Verse category.
In the CCIR Academy, Sophia conducted a research project titled “Corneal Stroma Regenerative Medicine: Bioengineering Technologies and Natural Biomaterials”. The research explores regenerative medicine techniques for the corneal stroma, focusing on bioengineering technologies and natural biomaterials. It aims to review advances in tissue engineering, biomaterials, and cell-based therapies to restore corneal function and vision through innovative approaches.
