Dicle was a Year 11 student at Yeni Yol High School in Turkey when she joined the CCIR Academy. She is the founder of MelaCheck, a startup with the aim of making the detection of malignant melanoma simpler and more affordable. Prior to CCIR, she was a research intern at Eskisehir Osmangazi University and had taken courses organized by Yale University, John Hopkins University, The University of Chicago, and Duke University.
At CCIR, Dicle conducted her research project, “The Use of Adult Oligodendrocyte Progenitor Cells for Promoting Remyelination in Multiple Sclerosis”. Her research project sheds light on the morphological, functional, and regenerative aspects of oligodendrocyte. In her paper, she examined the neuronal structure in demyelinating diseases and the oligodendrocyte lineage in detail, and reviewed the current research progress towards promoting remyelination using Sema3A and stem cells in animal models of demyelination.
In the CCIR Academy Student Spotlights, Dicle shares her experience in research and how she developed her project with the help of her professor.
