Nandini Khandelwal, a high school student at Newport High School in Washington, USA, has achieved notable accomplishments in her academic journey. She was selected as one of the international participants for the Summer Research Academy, a month-long immersive program at the University of California Santa Barbara. During this program, Nandini collaborated with a group of peers to design a soft robot that effectively cleans plastic from coral reefs, resulting in a 10-page research paper.
In addition, Nandini has showcased her skills and interests beyond the realm of research. She qualified for the DECA Internationals in the Marketing Communications Event and earned certifications in Introduction to Python from Microsoft and Introduction to Investing from CFA. Looking ahead, she envisions a career in biology that incorporates machine learning and cutting-edge technologies like CRISPR.
Within the CCIR Academy, Nandini pursued a research project titled “An Evaluation of Natural Language Processing Models for Hindi Language.” Her research focused on assessing the performance of specific models in the context of Hindi language and determining whether they achieved similar levels of accuracy.
