Suraga Nallan is a talented Year 9 high school student at Leland High School in California, USA. She possesses a strong passion for the fields of chemistry and physics, particularly astrophysics and quantum physics. Prior to CCIR, she conducted a hands-on project that involved identifying exoplanets, which are planets located outside the solar system, using data provided by NASA.
At CCIR Academy, Suraga conducted a research project entitled “Calculating the Trajectory of Photons in the Vicinity of Black Holes and Neutron Stars.” Her study entailed developing Python programs using diverse formulas that calculate the trajectory when provided with initial coordinates and directions.
Recently, Suraga was featured on an episode of CCIR Academy Student Spotlights. She shared her insights regarding her research project and how her professor contributed to shaping it.
