High School Student Researcher Vikarn on Investigating Cosmic Rays with Computational Tools

Vikarn Rajora is a high school student from West Island School in Hong Kong. He has a remarkable academic record and has participated in the CubeSAT competition, where he designed a Cube Satellite. Additionally, he serves as a student leader and leads the school’s National Academic Quiz Tournaments (NAQT) team.

At CCIR, Vikarn is working on his research project titled “Simulation of Cosmic Rays in the Presence of a Magnetic Field”. In his paper, he utilizes computational tools to simulate the propagation of cosmic rays through a magnetic dipole field that approximates the Earth’s geomagnetic field. By doing so, he aims to understand the effects of magnetism on the trajectories of these cosmic rays.

In the CCIR Academy Student Spotlights, Vikarn shares his passion for quantum physics. He also discusses his research experience with his professor and how this experience broadened his understanding of physics.
