High School Student Researcher Yen on Exploring the Cutting-edge of Regenerative Neurobiology

Yen Giang Nguyen is an exceptional junior student at VNU-HCM High School for the Gifted, Vietnam. She has an impressive track record in various academic competitions. Additionally, Yen Giang has participated in MaSSP, where she studied advanced levels of biology and neuroscience.

During her time at CCIR, Yen Giang Nguyen conducted her research paper entitled “Axon Regeneration in Dorsal Root Ganglion: Integrin as an Example to Promote Sensory Axon Regeneration”. The paper delves into the topic of axon regeneration in injured neurons of the central nervous system (CNS) and recent advancements in promoting axon regeneration in the dorsal root ganglion (DRG). Additionally, Nguyen explores potential treatments for brain and spinal cord injuries that may arise in the future.
