Embark On An Extraordinary Scientific Journey With Science It A Journalism Initiative By Ccir Alumni.

Have you ever wondered if science could transcend the pages of textbooks? What if it could be an exhilarating voyage filled with discovery, creativity, and global impact? Enter Science-It, an inspiring initiative born from the ‘what ifs’ of former CCIR Academy students.

The Vision of Science-It

Science-It isn’t your typical student-led initiative; it’s a dynamic movement, led and founded by former CCIR Academy students, Subeen Shim and Anar Thakor. They envisioned a world where science transcends the confines of traditional education and becomes an exciting adventure. Their goal is to expand students’ capacity to make a positive impact on the world and embrace diverse interpretations of science through journalism.

Join the ‘What If’ Revolution

Are you a student passionate about science and eager to share your insights globally? Science-It provides the platform you need to shine. It consists of two branches: Writers and Editors, spanning four major fields of science: Psychology/Neuropsychology, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Calling Aspiring Writers and Editors

For aspiring writers, Science-It offers a straightforward path to publication. Express your interest by emailing subeenshim2@gmail.com or athakor1807@gmail.com. The team will provide you with access to a Google Drive for article drafts and submissions, as well as a Google Classroom system.

Editors, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for quality, play a vital role in content refinement. There is a separate application process for those aspiring to become editors. This step helps the team evaluate their ability to provide constructive feedback to enhance article quality. The process will be the same as mentioned above: Students will have to send an email and their team will reach out to them with the application form with specific information. Students who aren’t selected as editors may still contribute as writers.

Once students are confirmed in either branch, they will be added to a group chat on Instagram managed by @science.it_.

The Writing and Publishing Cycle

Science-It operates on a two-week cycle. Writers have one week to craft their scientific narratives and another week for revisions based on feedback received over the weekends. Articles are published on the final Saturday of the cycle, with the following Sunday reserved for topic selection. Students have the option to change their chosen field of science after each article. The founders, Subeen and Anar, handle the publishing process.

The Future Awaits

Science-It is continually evolving. As they expand, they plan to introduce podcasts, videos, and engaging spotlights featuring both students and guest speakers. They highly value your input, and your ideas will shape their journey.

What Science-It Looks For

Science-It is a global organisation open to all student writers. They seek creativity in writing, encouraging unique connections between science and other fields like performing arts or religion. Their writings are inclusive and consider their potential impact on society.
