High School Student Researcher Abhiram’s Paper on Leveraging NLP to Identify Diseases Accepted at the MIT URTC 2024

High School Student Researcher Ishaan's Paper On Examining Structural Transformation And Resilience Of The Indian Economy Accepted At The Mit Urtc 2024 Ccir

Abhiram Godavarthy is a student at American High School in the United States. He has gained valuable experience through the Stanford University Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes, where he applied core mathematical concepts, including linear algebra, multivariable calculus, and statistics, to optimise AI algorithms. His work involved using supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning techniques to develop AI models in Python.

As an intern with the Math Science Nucleus Environmental Programme, Abhiram worked on engineering solutions to improve water flow at Tule Ponds and reduce electricity usage at Masonic Home and California Nursery through innovative composting methods. He also collaborated with the City of Fremont to address soil degradation at Stivers Lagoon by reintroducing native plants and beneficial bacteria.

Abhiram’s research paper, “Leveraging Natural Language Processing to Identify Diseases Given Symptoms,” has been accepted for presentation at the MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference (MIT URTC 2024) in Massachusetts. This prestigious event, organised by MIT students in partnership with IEEE, offers a platform for student-led research and networking.

Congratulations to Abhiram on this outstanding achievement!
