Kenneth Kim is a motivated Year 10 student at California Crosspoint Academy, with a keen interest in the fields of environmental science and ecology within the realm of biology. Prior to CCIR, Kenneth took part in an internship with Macho Flora, a company dedicated to designing and landscaping homes using drought-tolerant plants.
During his time there, engaged in researching sustainable alternatives to traditional horticulture practices. Kenneth’s passion lies in exploring the integration of biotechnology into ecology and expanding his understanding in this area. During his time at CCIR Academy, Kenneth conducted a research project titled “Use of CRISPR-Cas9 in Agriculture.” This project explored the application of the gene editing tool to modify crops, enhancing their drought tolerance, increasing resistance to pests, and improving shelf life.
Recently, Kenneth had the opportunity to share his valuable insights and reflections on his research journey during an episode of the CCIR Academy Student Spotlights.
