Aditya Iyer, a student from Dhirubhai Ambani International School in India, has achieved a remarkable milestone by being accepted into Cornell University. Prior to this achievement, he scored an outstanding 109.5 in the AMC 12, ranking 18th in the country, won silver medals in both the Asian International Mathematics Olympiad (AIMO) finals and the Hong Kong International Mathematics Olympiad (HKIMO) finals. Furthermore, he demonstrated his leadership skills by leading a team of four in the Wharton Investment Competition.
As part of the CCIR program, Aditya conducted a research project titled “Using the PageRank Algorithm to Rank Football Players in a Game.” In his paper, Aditya explores the application of the PageRank algorithm to objectively rank football players based on their performance in a specific game. By treating players as nodes and passes as edges in a graph, he considers different weighting functions that take into account the quantity and quality of passes, as well as individual player actions.
We are immensely proud to share that Aditya’s research paper has been accepted and published in the Journal of Research (JRS). Congratulations, Aditya!
