High School Student Researcher Anyu on Demand of Men and Women in the Chinese Market of Electric Vehicles

Anyu Lu, a high school student at Shanghai World Foreign Language Middle School in China, has an impressive track record of achievements.

At a young age, she designed a patented Foldable Saddle Combined with Seat Post, which was incorporated into an electric bicycle released by the HIMO company. Her role extended to devising marketing strategies for the product, resulting in the sale of over 7,000 units so far.

Anyu has earned several honours and awards. Leading a team in the Future Business Leaders of America competition, she secured national top 10 rankings in business communication, introduction to business procedures, banking and financial systems, and mobile application development. Additionally, she was awarded the Best Founder Award at the 2020 Future Creator Convention and received second prize for the Youth Science and Technology Motivation Award at the Shanghai Municipal Popular Science Education Innovation Award.

In extracurricular pursuits, Anyu actively participated in the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, engaging in academic panels and discussions with professionals across various fields, exploring the social implications of future technologies. She also plays a vital role as a core member of a Community Health Center, where she facilitates the connection of medical resources with citizens in remote areas. Moreover, she served as a Pandemic Volunteer, coordinating nucleic acid tests in the neighbourhood and assisting in the distribution of care packages during the COVID-19 quarantine period.

As part of the CCIR Academy, Anyu undertook a research project titled “Whether There Exists a Difference in the Demand of Men and Women in the Chinese Market of Electric Vehicles.” Her research centred on investigating potential disparities in the demand for electric vehicles (EVs) between men and women in the Chinese market. The study aimed to analyse consumer preferences, attitudes, and purchasing behaviours related to electric vehicles in China, specifically comparing these factors between genders.

Recently, Anyu shared her insights and reflections on her research journey in an episode of the CCIR Academy Student Spotlights.
