Vanessa Lu, a student at the University of Toronto Schools in Canada, is not only academically excellent but also dedicated herself to community service. She is passionate about helping those in need and aspires to bring a positive impact in society.
Previously, she interviewed representatives from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) as part of her involvement with the youth-led organisation, City Memory Mosaic, to understand their impact on the Queen West Community. Additionally, she volunteered at an Autism Centre for children and is a member of her school’s mental health and wellness club, Jack Chapter.
In the CCIR Academy, Vanessa conducted a research project titled “Comparison of healthcare-associated Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus in Canada and the United States (New York) against China (Shanxi)”. Her study compares the prevalence, characteristics, and factors contributing to healthcare-associated MRSA infections in different regions, aiming to provide insights into global MRSA epidemiology and inform prevention strategies.
Vanessa’s recent recognition in the CCIR Academy underscores her dedication to research, with appreciation for the support she has received from her professor and the CCIR Academy.
