At CCIR Academy, Elizabeth is currently conducting her research project about the Role of H3K4 Methylation and H4 Acetylation in Sense and Antisense Transcription. In this podcast, she will discuss her on-going project about the correlation between different histone modifications and gene expression. Histones are proteins that bind to DNA, which make genes more or less accessible to transcription. By looking at how modifications affect this process, she was able to gain a greater understanding of the role of external and environmental factors in the genome.
