Rithwik Gupta, a student at Irvington High School in the USA, boasts significant achievements in mathematics and science. He has excelled in prestigious competitions such as the American Invitational Mathematics Exam (AIME), where he emerged as the school’s highest scorer, an accomplishment achieved by only 5000 students nationwide. Additionally, Rithwik has secured a place on the AMC 10 Honor Roll, placing in the top 5% of scorers.
As the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Team Captain, Rithwik led his team to qualify for Regional Championships in 2020 and 2022. Notably, he dedicated his time to mentoring over 100 underprivileged and disabled students locally and 300 students internationally in countries like Israel, Kazakhstan, and Australia.
His innovative spirit shines through in his second-place win at the Alameda County Engineering Fair, where he presented an app with a provisional patent. This app aids teachers in taking attendance and monitoring student engagement during distance learning. Moreover, Rithwik achieved success in the Gold Division of the USA Computing Olympiad (USACO), demonstrating his adept understanding of advanced algorithms and data structures.
Rithwik’s research paper, titled “A Classifier-Based Approach to Multi-Class Anomaly Detection for Astronomical Transients,” has been accepted at the 243rd Meeting of the American Astronomical Society in Louisiana. This recognition from the AAS, a key institution in the global astronomical community, marks a significant milestone in his academic journey.
Congratulations to Rithwik on this remarkable achievement!
