Natasha Sobti is an exceptional student and athlete who has achieved significant success both in academics and sports. Her journey began at Sanskriti School in New Delhi, where she pursued her secondary education. While at school, she exhibited a keen interest in Mathematics and Physics, winning multiple awards in these subjects.
Besides her academic prowess, Natasha excels in sports, particularly swimming. Over the past eight years, she has earned over 100 medals in swimming competitions, a remarkable achievement by any standard. She represents Delhi State at national championships, and her performances have earned her well-deserved praise and recognition.
At CCIR Academy, she participated in the 1-on-1 mentorship program, where she developed her research project on the Systems-Level Analysis of Neurodegenerative Diseases Impact on Cognitive, Motor, and Metabolic Functioning. This research project is particularly significant because of the growing global concern around neurodegenerative diseases and their impact on individuals’ cognitive and motor functioning. As Sobti points out, as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and Huntington’s disease are becoming increasingly prevalent as populations age, they pose a significant public health challenge that needs to be addressed urgently. These diseases can have a profound impact on individuals’ cognitive and motor functioning, significantly affecting their quality of life. Research into neurodegenerative diseases is, therefore, essential to understanding the underlying causes of these conditions, identifying potential treatments, and developing strategies to prevent or slow their progression.
Natasha’s research paper on this topic was accepted by the Journal of Student Research (JSR), which is a significant accomplishment. She has shown that with hard work, dedication, and perseverance, one can achieve great things in academics, sports, and research. Her success is a source of inspiration to many young people who aspire to achieve greatness in their respective fields. Congratulations, once again, Natasha!
