High School Student Researcher Aarush Mohan’s Research on Predicting Vehicle Drag Coefficient Using Machine Learning was accepted at CADSCOM 2026

CADSCOM 2026 | ACM Data Science, Analytics and Computing Conference

Aarush Mohan is a student at Greenwood High International in India. He has a strong interest and background in robotics, programming, engineering, and technology. Aarush led his team to first place in the OnStage category at the RoboCupJunior (RCJ) Nationals in both 2023 and 2024, where he worked on programming, automation, and sensor integration for a futuristic farming concept on Mars. He also designed and built the second-fastest car in India in the F1 in Schools competition, placed sixth at the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) Nationals, and won first place at Synthacks for developing a college counselling platform connecting high school students with college students.

At the CCIR Academy, Aarush’s research paper, Predicting Drag Coefficient Based on Design Parameters Using Machine Learning, was accepted at the 6th Colloquium on Analytics, Data Science, and Computing (CADSCOM 2026), held at Minnesota State University, Mankato. His research investigated how machine learning could predict a vehicle’s aerodynamic drag based on its design parameters. Using more than 4,000 vehicle configurations, the study compared different machine learning approaches, including regression models and neural networks, and found that neural networks were better able to capture complex relationships between vehicle design parameters and aerodynamic performance. The research highlights the potential of machine learning to enable faster and more scalable aerodynamic evaluation during the early stages of vehicle design.

The 6th Colloquium on Analytics, Data Science, and Computing was held on 17 April 2026 at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Organised by the Twin Cities ACM Chapter, a professional chapter chartered by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the conference brought together students, faculty, and professionals to share research in analytics, data science, and computing. Research submissions underwent a double-blind peer-review process, with the programme featuring peer-reviewed papers, keynote presentations, and industry-faculty panels.

Congratulations to Aarush on this achievement!
