Jasmine Li is a student at Jericho Senior High School in New York. She belongs to both the National Honor Society and the French Honor Society. She has also completed a fiction writing master class through the Columbia Pre-College Program.
In Year 10, Jasmine founded DreaminGirlz, a nonprofit organisation that supports girls who lack access to education. She funds the initiative through scholarships she has earned in competitions. In addition, she serves as an editor for her school magazine.
Jasmine’s research paper, Greta Gerwig’s Barbie (2023): A Commercial Product or Feminist Masterpiece?, has been accepted for presentation at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR 2025).
Her research examines Greta Gerwig’s Barbie (2023). In particular, she explores the relationship between commercial interests and feminist themes in the film.
The National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR 2025) gives students a platform to present their research, scholarship, and creative work. It also helps students develop academic and professional skills. Through the conference, they can share ideas and engage with the wider academic community.
Congratulations to Jasmine on this achievement!
