High School Student Researcher Pranav Manne’s Research on Machine Learning for Chemical Reaction Optimisation was accepted at Three Research Events in 2026

MIT URTC, NRCP and IFoRE | Undergraduate Research Conferences

Pranav Manne is a student at Sreenidhi International School in India. He has demonstrated strong academic achievement, receiving an Academic Scholarship for outstanding IB MYP grades and earning the Chairman’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement four times. Pranav was also a national finalist in the Global Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge, placing among the top three teams.

At the CCIR Academy, Pranav’s research paper, Reaction-Level Machine Learning for Condition Optimization in Suzuki–Miyaura Cross-Coupling: Global Transfer and Focused Chemical Domains, has been accepted at three research events in 2026: the National Research Conference at Penn (NRCP), the MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference (MIT URTC) for a poster presentation, and the IFoRE Student Research Competition. His research explores how machine learning can help optimise reaction conditions for Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling, an important class of chemical reactions. Using high-throughput experimental data, the study demonstrates how machine learning can identify and rank promising high-yield conditions for new reactions, potentially reducing the need for costly trial-and-error experimentation in pharmaceutical development.

The National Research Conference at Penn is a student-run research conference held at the University of Pennsylvania, bringing together student researchers across disciplines for research presentations, communication, and collaboration. The MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference (MIT URTC), held in Cambridge, Massachusetts, provides a platform for student research in engineering and technology through papers, posters, and other presentations. IFoRE, powered by Sigma Xi, brings together researchers across scientific disciplines, with its Student Research Competition open to high school, undergraduate, and graduate researchers in science, engineering, and mathematics.

Congratulations to Pranav on this achievement!
