High School Student Researcher Vikarn on Investigating Cosmic Rays with Computational Tools

Vikarn Rajora is a high school student at West Island School in Hong Kong. He has a strong academic record and a keen interest in science.

Vikarn participated in the CubeSAT competition, where he designed a Cube Satellite. In addition, he serves as a student leader. He also leads his school’s National Academic Quiz Tournaments (NAQT) team.

Vikarn’s Research on Cosmic Rays

At CCIR, Vikarn is working on a research project titled “Simulation of Cosmic Rays in the Presence of a Magnetic Field.”

His project uses computational tools to simulate how cosmic rays move through a magnetic dipole field. This field approximates the Earth’s geomagnetic field. Through these simulations, Vikarn aims to understand how magnetism affects cosmic ray trajectories.

Vikarn’s Research Journey at CCIR Academy

In CCIR Academy Student Spotlights, Vikarn shares his passion for quantum physics. He also discusses his research experience with his professor.

Through this experience, Vikarn has broadened his understanding of physics and explored a topic that connects computational methods with the study of cosmic rays.
