Karthikeya Atmakuru is a student at The Quarry Lane School in the USA. He has a strong interest in science, technology, and research. He participated in the Gifted and Talented Institute, where he earned a Certificate in Research & Innovation Leadership through the GSET Program. During this experience, he researched how people perceive speed in video games. He also developed skills in analysing data and drawing conclusions.
Beyond research, Karthikeya has explored business and technology. His team’s business idea ranked among the top three in a programme. He presented the idea to an audience of over 300 people. Additionally, he studied AI fundamentals and autonomous car navigation through the ROAR programme at UC Berkeley.
Karthikeya also leads programming for his school’s robotics team. In this role, he works on robot programming and hardware. Furthermore, he founded and leads the STEM Ignite club. Through this club, he mentors students in STEM subjects, helps them develop programming skills, and encourages community involvement.
At CCIR Academy, Karthikeya conducted a research project titled “Analysing U.S. Airline Reviews from Twitter.” His study examines tweets about U.S. airlines and the opinions they express. He uses natural language processing and sentiment analysis to explore public perceptions of airline services. These methods help identify patterns in how people discuss their experiences online.
Karthikeya’s research journey reflects his commitment to learning and discovery. He also appreciates the guidance he received from his professor and CCIR Academy.
