Pranav Nimmagadda is a student at Dougherty Valley High School in the United States. He has received recognition through several academic and extracurricular awards, including the Eagle Scout Award, the Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award, and the National PTA Reflections Merit Award in Composition. He has also placed in the Bay Area Creative Youth Foundation Competition and the Dougherty Valley EcoInnovators Hackathon. Beyond academics, Pranav is an active participant in Model United Nations and has represented his school at the San Francisco Model UN Conference.
At the CCIR Academy, Pranav’s research paper, Telugu-English Code Mixed Sentiment Analysis, has been accepted for presentation at the Purdue Linguistics Symposium 2025. His study investigates how sentiment analysis models perform on Telugu-English code-mixed text, evaluating their precision and generalisation across both code-mixed and monolingual datasets. The findings highlight the challenges of analysing multilingual data and the impact of training methods on model performance.
Hosted by the Department of Linguistics at Purdue University, the Purdue Linguistics Symposium 2025 is an international forum for researchers to discuss developments in linguistics and related fields. The symposium provides an opportunity for researchers to share their work and engage with others across different areas of linguistic research.
