Vincent Qin is a student at Lynbrook High School in the United States. He actively participates in Science Olympiad and Science Bowl. Through these competitions, he has competed at regional, state, and national levels. He has also built a strong record across several scientific events.
Beyond science, Vincent is passionate about chess. He co-founded Lightning Square Chess Club, a registered non-profit organisation that promotes chess among young people and seniors. He has also earned recognition in state and regional chess competitions. In addition, he has taught chess to children and directed tournaments. Vincent also competes in robotics and has earned finalist recognition at regional competitions.
At CCIR Academy, Vincent’s research paper, Classifying the Emotional Polarity of Digital Communications Using Large Language Models, was accepted at the International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Emerging Topics (ALLEGET). His study uses the Llama 3.1 large language model for sentiment classification. He fine-tunes the model using the Stanford Sentiment Treebank dataset. The goal is to identify patterns of negative communication that could support early intervention and guidance.
The International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Emerging Topics (ALLEGET) explores intelligent methods for analysing multimodal data in social and digital environments. It brings researchers together to examine new applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning. These discussions cover a range of digital and social contexts.
Congratulations to Vincent on this achievement!
