Pranav Nimmagadda is a student at Dougherty Valley High School in the United States. He has received several awards for his academic and extracurricular achievements. These include the Eagle Scout Award, the Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award, and the National PTA Reflections Merit Award in Composition. He also placed in the Bay Area Creative Youth Foundation Competition and the Dougherty Valley EcoInnovators Hackathon. Beyond these achievements, Pranav actively participates in Model United Nations. He has also represented his school at the San Francisco Model UN Conference.
At CCIR Academy, Pranav’s research paper, Telugu-English Code Mixed Sentiment Analysis, was accepted for presentation at the Purdue Linguistics Symposium 2025. His study examines how sentiment analysis models perform on Telugu-English code-mixed text. It evaluates their precision and ability to generalise across code-mixed and monolingual datasets. The findings highlight the challenges of analysing multilingual data. They also show how training methods can affect model performance.
The Department of Linguistics at Purdue University hosted the Purdue Linguistics Symposium 2025. The event brought together researchers working in linguistics and related fields. It also provided a platform for sharing research and discussing new developments. Through these discussions, participants could exchange ideas across different areas of linguistic research.
Congratulations to Pranav on this achievement!
