High School Student Researcher Anik Banerji’s Research on Soft and Rigid Prosthetics was accepted at the MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference (MIT URTC)

Anik Banerji is a student at St. John’s School in the United States. He has taken a range of advanced courses beyond his school curriculum, including an undergraduate-level computer science course from the University of Nevada through the Davidson Young Scholars programme, a number theory course at the AwesomeMath summer camp, and advanced probability through Art of Problem Solving. He also completed a dual-credit engineering design course from the University of Texas at Austin.

Anik has also demonstrated strong achievements in mathematics and science. He qualified for the AIME (American Invitational Mathematics Examination) through the AMC-10, placing among the top 2.5% of students nationwide. He has also been active in Science Olympiad, playing a key role in helping his school qualify for the state level after winning first place at regionals.

Anik’s research paper, Assessing the Performance of Soft and Rigid Prosthetics, was accepted at the MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference (MIT URTC). The paper compares soft and rigid prosthetic fingers by simulating their function in MATLAB Simscape, focusing on differences in force output and sensor accuracy.
