High School Student Researcher Vincent Qin’s Research on Emotional Polarity in Digital Communications was accepted at the International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Emerging Topics (ALLEGET)

ALLEGRET 2026 | Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Workshop

Vincent Qin is a student at Lynbrook High School in the United States. He has been actively involved in Science Olympiad and Science Bowl, competing at regional, state, and national levels, and has built a strong record across multiple scientific events. Alongside this, Vincent is deeply engaged in chess. He co-founded Lightning Square Chess Club, a registered non-profit organisation focused on promoting chess among young people and seniors, and has achieved success in state and regional competitions. He also has experience teaching chess to children and directing tournaments. In robotics, he has competed in regional competitions and earned finalist recognition.

At the CCIR Academy, Vincent’s research paper, Classifying the Emotional Polarity of Digital Communications Using Large Language Models, has been accepted at the International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Emerging Topics (ALLEGET). His research fine-tunes the large language model Llama 3.1 for sentiment classification using the Stanford Sentiment Treebank dataset, with the aim of identifying patterns of negative communication that could support early intervention and guidance.

The International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Emerging Topics (ALLEGET) focuses on intelligent methods for analysing multimodal data within social and digital environments. The workshop provides a platform for researchers to explore emerging applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning across a range of digital and social contexts.
