Amaan Mohammed is a student at Dublin High School in the United States. His achievements include winning first place in the DUSD Public Service Announcement competition on fentanyl abuse, receiving the Gold Presidential Service Award, and ranking in the Top 10 at the HOSA State Leadership Conference for both Mental Health Promotion and the Fentanyl Abuse PSA categories.
At the CCIR Academy, Amaan’s research paper, Repurposing Anti-diabetic GLP-1 Receptor Agonists for the Treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease, has been accepted at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC). His paper explores how drugs originally developed to treat type 2 diabetes, including semaglutide, liraglutide, exenatide, and lixisenatide, may have therapeutic potential in Alzheimer’s disease by reducing inflammation, preventing neuronal death, and supporting cognitive function.
The Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC) is a major international event focused on advancing dementia science and clinical practice. Organised by the Alzheimer’s Association, the conference brings together researchers, clinicians, and professionals to share developments in Alzheimer’s and dementia research, spanning areas from basic science to clinical care and prevention.
